Sydney and I went to the Gem Show in Santa Barbara and came back with some wonderful new treasures for you.  We found a gorgeous statue of the Goddess Tara wielding a big red sword made from Coral.  Her clothing is inlaid Turquoise and Coral. We couldn't resist another beautifully detailed Tara statue!
More from our Tibetan friends include the Shell adorned with jewels and a beautiful dragon  You can use it as a horn if you have good breath control!
Other new pieces include a quartz cluster that has been fused with Titanium to turn it that gorgeous Peacock color, and an Amethyst sphere and it is also Ametrine...the most unusual one I have ever seen.  Some that I did not have time to get pictures of are a nice sized brass gong with Tibetan symbols, A Golden Healer Buddha with Golden Rutile and a sweet carVing of a long eared dog with silver rutiles.  And, the star of our trip was the purchase of an amazing carving of what seems to be a Native American head in full headdress.  This is carved of a beautiful piece of Emerald.  it stands about 10" high.  It is a must see in person!
Full Moon Singing Bowls ~ A Soulful Experience!
This is Simone’s story with a Full Moon Singing Bowl in Tucson.
“I am sensitive to sound; even beautiful music becomes too much of a good thing to my ears at times. My experience with a Full Moon Singing Bowl therefore came as quite a surprise.
I was purchasing exquisite hand-hammered singing bowls for the shop, and inadvertently put two Full Moon bowls into the stack. Informed these bowls were unique—and a little over budget—I put them back. Two days later, I returned to ask about these special bowls. Here’s what I learned:
Full Moon singing bowls are handcrafted by Nepalese artisans under the light and energy of the full moon. If there is a cloud in the sky, work is postponed. Crystals are hung above the bowls as they are created, and prayers are offered during the 13 moons it takes to complete a singing bowl. Each bowl is inscribed with a moon containing the four directions and the mantra “Om Mani Padme Hum” in Tibetan. When these Full Moon bowls are finished, monks come to bless each one. Proceeds from these bowls support monasteries, the artisans, and their families in Nepal.
Intrigued, I began playing one Full Moon bowl after another, transported by the harmony and lasting resonant vibration each one offered. Then, as my striker moved around the rim of one particular singing bowl, I was moved to tears. The sound resonated deep within my being, and I felt healing taking place that I hadn’t even known I needed. Tears turned to laughter in my surprised delight, and of course this beautiful, soulful Full Moon bowl now has a special place in my heart—and in my home!”
These Full Moon singing bowls are also available in the shop this week. We invite you to come and experience the uplifting and healing energies unique to each one!
