Six of Swords Tarot

Today's tarot card with Penny Harrington is the Six of Swords from the Gilded Tarot Deck.

Swords is the suit representing Air--thoughts, beliefs and intellect, but also swiftness and challenge. The sixes represent rest and harmony after chaos.

This card shows a beautiful boat being poled by a woman wearing a blue cloak.  It is a peaceful night with a full moon shining its light on the scene.  Inside the boat are six swords standing with their points down.  The water seems fairly calm, although there are small ripples.  A frog silently watches the boat pass by.

The woman seems intent on her journey.  Is she escaping from someone or something, or is she looking for new adventures?  She is obviously moving on to something new.  However, she is taking all of her swords with her!  So, no matter where she goes, she takes the same thoughts and beliefs with her.

If this card appears in your reading, do not make the mistake of thinking that your troubles will be over if you just got to a new place, a new job or a new relationship. If you truly want change, you have to examine your beliefs and your actions to see what needs to change.  As the old saying goes, "No matter where you go, there you are!"
